love, that you are a blender

Love, that you are
a blender and I am
an engineer, would
redesign you to be lightweight
so I could carry
you in my pocket,
Give you a two-wheel drive, so you
run supermarket errands, mingle and bring
my dinner back on heated plates
Make your humor rechargeable
safety precautions removable
until your top flies off
Pour my brilliant cherries
serenading your cold curving, your motor
spins its gears, smoothie we dream
of blender fantasies -
Compose, the brittle carbon that you are
my ductile some-kind-of-resin
(because I do not know enough engineering yet)
into a stronger union of us,
Fracture your plastic eyes, melting
aluminum teeth and cantilever beams yield
Enclose me! your stress is my
strain together we are torsion
in the planes,
the bizarre folds of our sheets
